Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner Opera browser co-founder and now founder of the feature-rich Vivaldi browser in a personal interview with us confirmed that the takeover of Opera software by a Chinese consortium consisting of Kunlun Tech, Qihoo 360 Security and some investment firms including Yonglian, has been completed.

Wow, it's a perfect fit but certainly not one I saw coming.
Probably the best for Opera, they need all the help they can get!

Personally I thinkthat it is a shame that the Chineese are once agian cherry picking the best of the West...I suspect that no good can come of it and that this may well turn Opera into a 'has been' of the browser world as who would want to use a browser controllewd by Chinese interests? :(
