Amazon’s financial results for the third financial quarter of 2014 didn’t do the company any favors when they were announced late last week; the retail giant posted a quarterly net loss of $437 million, up dramatically from last year’s 3Q loss of $41 million. The biggest single contributor to the bad news? Amazon’s Fire Phone.

I am pretty sure I have seen something about it now being available for a mere $0.99 from some cell providers (WIth a two year contract of course).  That type of discount is usually only seen on old model phones or for very special deals.

 

It looks like this the 'great feature of simply scanning or taking a picture of an item to bring it up for sale on Amazon' has simply not caught on.

 

I am not surprised.... I am quite capable of doing that myself without the additional intrusive tracking qualities that this device has in order to serve you up even more targeted ads for items on sale at Amazon 🙂
