If suomeone posts a photo or something onto my Facebook wall is there any way to trace the corrput file all the way back to it's origin? If so, how wold I do that?

If they post a photo it cant be corrupt as if it was corrupt it wouldnt display. If the device that took the photo embedded GPS location in the photo you could tell where it was taken.
To add to what Roy said, there just isn't any way for you to do this. In the event a pic did have the GPS signature on it, that only tell you where, not who. If it was so easy that a private individual could track a file's origins, governments around the world would not be having such problems going after cyber criminals.
