Google's standalone Docs and Sheets mobile apps work offline

Google has introduced standalone mobile apps for its cloud-based document and spreadsheet tools, in order to simplify the process of creating and editing content on the move. Docs and Sheets will be available on both Android and iOS and are designed to give users easier access to files so that you no longer have to root through Drive to find them. The idea isn't that these apps replace the Google Drive app, rather they are designed to supplement Drive, which will still act a central point for you to store and organise all of your files and photos.
