Computer scientists and electrical engineers at the University of Washington have discovered a method to use fingerprint sensors to transfer passwords through the human body in order to avoid hacking.

The method involves using benign, low-frequency transmissions produced by fingerprint sensors and touchpads on consumer devices. “Fingerprint sensors have so far been used as an input device. We have shown for the first time that fingerprint sensors can be re-purposed to send out information that is confined to the body,” online Science journal, Digit, reported Shyam Gollakota, Assistant Professor at University of Washington (UW) as saying.
