macOS Sierra 10.12.4, seeded to developers this morning, introduces a major new feature: Night Shift for the Mac.



First introduced for iOS devices in iOS 9.3, Night Shift is designed to gradually shift the display of a device from a blue tint to a more yellow tint during the evening, cutting down on exposure to blue light. I use F.lux on Windows to do this same thing. The upcoming Creator's update from Windows is also said to support this type of feature natively. I do think it makes a difference in regards to eye strain/fatigue. I do have to disable it while watching video, though, as it gives the picture that yellowish tint. Many new monitors are also coming with blue-light filtering technology.

I use f.lux too, BD, and very good it is too but soon to be redundant...potentially, as Microsoft are introducing a similar feature to an upcoming Build of Windows 10...I believe that it featured in one of the Insider Review announcements posted here a short while back?

 

Perhaps one of the MS Insiders will confirm or debunk the veracity of that statement? ;)
