HDMI connection
What I am trying to do is use my desktop HDMI connection to an AV receiver with similar connect. My question is do I have to disconnect my computer speakers for the HDMI connect (audio only) to be transferred to my AV receiver

+28I don't know what operating system you're running or what software you have installed for sound settings. However, I can offer a generic response. In your sound settings, you might be able to specify the HDMI for sound. If the HDMI ports are specifically part of the graphics card and not the sound card, then I don't think you'll be able to.
