Basic ear-bothering music gizmo gets iSight camera and price drop

By Shaun Nichols, 26 Jun 2014 Apple is now touting a cheaper iPod Touch with a better camera.

The iThing giant said the 16GB iPod Touch model will now come with a five-megapixel iSight camera as well as a price drop, which will see the entry-level Zune-killer fall from $229 to $199 (£159). The 32GB $249 (£199) and 64GB $299 (£249) models will remain unchanged.

The update means that all three of Apple's iPod Touch offerings will sport the 5Mp iSight camera, a 4in Retina screen and an Apple A5 CPU. Color choices include pink, yellow, blue, silver, gray and a (Product) Red model.

All three models run iOS 7. The company said the Touch line will be updated to iOS 8 this Fall.
