The Apple Silicon processors (M1, M1 Pro, and M1 Max) used in the latest Macs M1 processors and in the latest Macs, are based on tech first and were developed for the tech giant’s iPhone and iPad. In fact, the current iPad Pro uses an M1 processor—the first Apple Silicon chip used in a Mac.
This means that M.x-equipped Macs can run iOS and iPadOS apps. Some folks will care less about this feature. Others will find it very handy, especially those who use an iOS or iPadOS app that’s not available in a macOS native version.
