I am getting stuck with Webroot Filtering Extension running (shows at bottom of screen and keeps des

I am continually getting stuck with the Webroot Filtering Extension doing whatever it does. It just sits there grinding away and i never get to my desired program. It does not happen all of the time but frequently enough to be aggravating because you have to get exit out of the program or even restart the computer. How do I fix this?
