I don't think you're hitting up against the limit of number of rows, unless you're on a very old version of Excel.  You might be running out of memory on your computer though, if it is having trouble loading the whole sheet into memory.  What are the specs of the computer?  Also, can you post the exact error message you are getting?  That will help us do some research online to see if anyone else is getting the problem.
