locked up with googleapis.com
my webroot detecks no virus but I cannot use my chrome browser it is locked up

Welcome to the Community Forums.
When I try the googleapis.com as a url I go straigh the the usual Google search page. And the reason why is that "Google APIs is a set of application programming interfaces (APIs) developed by Google which allow communication with Google Services and their integration to other services."...you can read more here. And that is why WSA has not detected anything.
If may I would suggest that you uninstall Chrome, download a new copy from Google (official download site is here) and then reinstall Chrome, then see if the problem persists.
If not sorted by the above please post back and we will look to assist further.
