May I ask if you are running Webroot Anti Virus by chance? Can you tell me what OS Windows you are running?
You could try running CCleaner by piriform.com. Making sure you have set a Restore point before making any changes.
Also you could have alot of Startup programs running which you could check by going to Run/msconfig and see what is starting up.

May I just add here...are you by any chance running Windows 10, and if so has this been happenning since you upgrade, by any change? Just asking as we have had a few enquires in the same area that seem to be characterised by this underlying fact.
