Suspicious email

I received an email purportedly from Apple informing me of a charge for $293 for a messaging service called Viber.  It said that the charge appeared to be coming from another device and that I could cancel the charge in the next 24 hours if I clicked on a button that said “Click Here.”   Without thinking it through I clicked the button.  It went immediately to a strange looking screen that said something to the effect that this link does not exist.  I was immediately suspicious that I had been hacked.  What should I do?

@jptift ,

Please run a virus scan immediately and refrain from clicking on any more links. If the scan comes back clear you’re probably fine.

Please let us know how that goes.

I ran the virus scan and it was clear.  Apple recommended changing my password and asked that I forward the email to them, both of which have been done.  So hopefully all is well.  Thanks for responding.
