Don't fall victim to the many telephone scams out there stating that you have malware on your computer. A few months ago I received a telephone call from Microsoft (Scammer) stating that my computer has malware on it and they wanted to help me remove the malware. I didn't fall for the scam but I kept him on the phone a long time.

The following video made by a principal software engineer at Sourcefire when scammers phoned him shows how the scammers operate:

Very true PTD as you can see in an earlier thread Avoid tech support phone scams claimed to be from Microsoft and we always need reminders of these Scammers! Since I posted that thread back in February I have not received a call since! ;)

The last call I got was in mid July. It looks like a once or twice a year call scam for me. I don't mind because I play stupid, keep them on the phone a long time, get them mad and they hang up. 😃
