The Classic Theme Restorer add-on for Firefox will stop working when Mozilla releases Firefox 57.0 Stable, and Firefox 59.0 ESR.

Very sad. Looks like I won't be updating Firefox past v56. :(

I can't, for the life of me, understand why devs make changes to their browsers that get rid of features that many users want.

It's what I call the 'Microsoft' mentality. "Do as we say, we know best. Users be damned"

Yeah, same here. :@

As much as I hate to say it, my default browser will probably turn out to be Safari soon. 😠
I tried this extension when Australis first came out but soon discarded it as I preferred the new look! So it will be no loss for me  but I have no doubt there will be many other add-ons that will disappear when FF 57 is released. I have been with FF for ever and am likely to stay for a while longer..
Well, most of the tweaks that CTR made possible should still be available to tweak in Firefox's 'about:config' so it's not a huge loss. I just wish that Mozilla would quit trying to make Firefox like Chrome. If I wanted a Firefox that looked and acted just like Chrome then I would just use Chrome. I am a huge fan of customization. Whether is be an OS, browser, or often used program/GUI. Hopefully, as the new standard becomes commonplace, we will see other options that allow for the sort of customization that CTR provided. ;)
