Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo has crashed during a test flight near its spaceport in the Mojave Desert today.
Details are sketchy at this point but Virgin Galactic tweeted one of those cryptic notices you never want to see: “#SpaceShipTwo has experienced an in-flight anomaly. Additional info and statement forthcoming.”

According the the BBC site the co-pilot was killed and the pilot is seriously injured.

    Yup, just seen that on the 10pm news. Apart from the loss of life, which is tragic, I think that it is s hame and I hope that it does not put Virgin and other such enterprises in theirnefforts in this brave new world.
