When I try to download now, I get a pop up box with message "Internet Shortcut Shell Extension DLL, Microsoft Corp.  It does not allow me to access what I need but just keeps popping back up if I click on it.  Does anyone know what that is and what I should do about it?  Thanks!
Hi Bea

A quick scoot around the Internet has revealled this Microsoft Support Forum thread on this very subject. Please take a look at it to see if it will provide an initial assist re. your issue.

Would you be able to advis as to which browser or browsers you are using when you get this issue?

Regards, Baldrick
Thanks for the help.  I am using Mozilla Firefox as my default.  It is the one I mainly use and recently I had a technician do some work on it.  I used to be able to download easily but yesterday when I tried, I got a box with that message and it would not open the item I wanted to see.  I have no idea what that "shortcut" is and I was concerned it was a virus.  I hope it is not. The site you gave me is appreciated but no one answers what the meaning of the message is.  Do you  know?  Thanks!

Hi Bea

OK, that narrows it down a bit. Please take a look at this thread from the Mozilla Support Forums for something more specific to your use of Firefox.

Thanks Baldrick for trying to help me.  I am not that computer savvy and reading that last site really was more than I could understand.  I have contacted a computer agent who worked on my computer a couple of weeks ago and hope he can resolve this for me.   I was having problems with Firefox when he worked on it so maybe it is connected.  Much appreciation!
Hi Bea

No worries, I do understand.

I suspect that it is to do with one of the extensions that you may well have in use in Firefox...but hopefully the technician you mentioned will be able to sort it out for you. If not then please do post back and we can try to help out in more simple terms.
