Why doesn't my spam work. On desk top I mark as spam but it keeps coming.
Hello ?,

Welcome back to the Webroot Community Forums.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with spam.

Would it be possible for you to provide us with more detail regarding your problem?

What email client are you using? (gmail, yahoo, outlook, etc.)

Are the messages you mark as spam in your inbox?

The spam that keeps coming, is it from the same sender or is all of your spam getting through?

I'm just trying to get a better idea of the problem you're having.

Please reply back to us so we can try and get this worked out for you. :)

I will be leaving the forum shortly but will return later. In the meantime, if you reply back and I'm not here, I'm sure one of our other great community members will be happy to help you.

Please let us know.

Thanks,

BD

First off, thanks for answering.

I have Windows 7 and use Firefox as a browser. The mail box is Verizon.

I'm not sure how to use Webroot anti-spam, I use the spam button in the Verizon mail box.

Yes, it is everything. Sometimes one vendor might send 3-4 emails per day. I tried looking at the from address but it looks like the same computer is sending all the email FOR THAT PARTICULAR ADVERTISER!!!!

Hi Steve

I believe that BurnDaddy is offline for the moment so I will try to assist in his stead in the interim.

Firstly, WSA does not have an anti-spam component so you are using the right thing as far as what you have in your kit bag...the spam button in the Verizon mail box.

Secondly, whilst spam filters may look as if they are working on just the email address often they actually use hidden information that exists in the email header, and and whilst the email address is not changing the spammer is manipulating/changing an element of the hidden header which the spam filter is detecting as different to what you blocked previously and...hey presto...it allows the email through.

In my opinion if you are having issued with Verizon's anti spam feature then you should contact the Support Team at Verizon to advise them of the issue and see if they can get to the bottom of it for you.

I am assuming that you are a residentail customer and therefore you should be able to find the appropriate support contact via this web page.

Hope that helps somewhat?

Regards, Baldrick

Thank you ? for your excellent response.

Thank you ? for providing us with the additional information. You are very welcome.

Hopefully the folks at Verizon can get this sorted for you.

Please come back and visit soon.

Have a good night,

Thanks, I thought I saw something about anti spam somewhere in the WR lists of whats what.

I've tried Verizon, they say it's the changes in addresses as yoou described but one of them admitted that their system only covers 20 addresses.

Thanks,

Steve
