Windows 10 Creators Update and Creators Update SDK are Released

By Kevin Gallo / Corporate Vice President of Windows Developer

This is a big day! Today we opened access to download the Windows 10 Creators Update and, along with it, the Creators Update SDK. And today is a great day for all Windows developers to get the SDK and start building amazing apps that take advantage of new platform capabilities to deliver experiences that you and your users will love.

We are working hard to innovate in Windows and to bring the power of those innovations to Windows developers and users. We released Windows 10 Anniversary Update just eight months ago, and we’ve already seen that over 80% of Windows 10 PCs are running Anniversary Update (version 1607) or later.

With today’s release of Windows 10 Creators Update, we expect users to once again move rapidly to the latest and best version of Windows. For developers, this is the time to get ready for the next wave.

I updated my main Laptop and ran into 2 issues after!

1. Had to reinstall the factory Bluetooth Drivers to get my Bluetooth Mouse to work again.

2. Had to reinstall my factory Sound System Software and driver as that stopped working from the upgrade.

Otherwise everything else is looking good. When the full installer comes out I think i will do a complete clean reinstall of Windows 10 Creators Build.

Wow! Sorry to haer about that Daniel. Thanks for the warning.....:D As I have the same mouse as you!;)
Yeppers...thanks for the warning...I too have the best wireless mouse available (like both of you)...;)

Planning to go for the update over the coming weekend.

Regards, Baldrick

No problems here, but I don't have bluetooth enabled on my PC. Sound is ok.

Was looking forward to being able to hide apps in the Start menu. However, I was disappointed to see that the on/off toggle for this has been put in "Settings" and not on the Start Menu itself. The update also turned on access to "Tasks" from apps, which I had disabled. Other than those minor issues everything is running smoothly. I have been slowly discovering the new additions to this OS.

@, if you have access to a Creators Windows 10 ISO, like you did with the Anniversary edition, I'd be extremely grateful if you could share. ;)

Thanks. You all have a great day. :)

Ok. Will do. Thanks. 😉
Microsoft is really getting pushy with the new Edge browser as they show an Edge tab within Internet Explorer. :S

LOL. That made me think of the Grandmaster Flash song, "The Message."

"Don't push me 'cause I'm close to the edge. I'm trying not to lose my head, ha-ha"

I'm happy to say that I spoke too soon. The updates between last week and now have produced the results I was looking for.:)There is now a toggle to show/hide apps/tiles within the Start menu, as well as a toggle to show/hide the names of the shortcut icons that appear along the left side of the Start menu. The size (height, width) of the Start menu is also adjustable.;)

Here to remove that Edge tab within IE!

You know, I had problems with the Creators Update, too. I had to reset my whole computer and install all my apps again. I have my product key code for Webroot, but am not sure how to reinstall it. Any help would be appreciated. The reason I had to reset it is because the graphics driver had problems during the update and no text was appearing on my screen. My apps had no menus and the date and time did not show, either.
Hello cgolias120, Welcome to the Webroot Community Forum. :D

Please follow the steps below closely in terms of installing WSA on the target system/machine!

  • Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
  • Be sure you have or add your Keycode to your Online Console: Webroot SecureAnywhere Online Console
  • KEEP the computer online during the install to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Geek Squad Subscription PC users click HERE). Let us know if it is the Mac version you need.
  • Install with the new installer, entering your Keycode when prompted to do so in the install process
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot
HTH,

Dave. 😉
