Microsoft has released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14942 for PC to Insiders on the fast ring. This build contains a lot of new improvements and features such as the ability to hide the app list in the start menu, a new icon for Windows Update, and the ungrouping of Windows services from svchost.exe processes.
The new feature that I really like is the ungrouping of Windows services from running under svchost.exe processes. For those who have more than 3.5GB of RAM, Windows will now launch Windows services as standalone services rather than executing them from under a svchost.exe process. Svchost.exe, and the services running under them, have always been a confusing and concerning feature of Windows, to the point that I had to write a tutorial about it back in 2006.
