Hello vegan66,
Welcome to the Community Forum,
From some of my research I've found this here below.
a BLACK and EMPTY screen means your Cache, Memory or PageFiling are filled-up
and can't take any more -- or you may have conflicting ''cookies''. Simply delete your
Cache, Cookies and History; then clear your Memory with a shutdown & fresh reboot.
Other possibilities + solutions:
-- Right-click any video, click "Settings" and uncheck "Enable Hardware Acceleration".
-- Disable any Adblock add-on, play a video; then re-enable the Adblock the next day.
-- There could be a player conflict -- (like with Real Player, Pepperflash, or Shumway).
If that's the case, disable/uninstall it, and when you'd like it back, simply reinstall it.
-- Disable your AV utility while on YouTube, since you can't get a virus from YouTube.
-- You may unknowingly be using ''HTML5'' rather than "Flash''.
PLease update Adobe Flash here
If none of this helps then please shutdown Webroot by right clicking Webroot in the system tray, shutdown protection.
Then see if this is Webroot or not.blocking YouTube. If it is you can go here,
And go here as well
Hope this helps and if not please get back to us.
Kind Regards,
