Reinstalling Webroot
Click on the Start button and open the Control Panel. You will see either "Uninstall a Program" or "Programs and Features" - double-click whichever option you see. Select the 'Webroot' security product from the list and click 'Uninstall'.
Enter the CAPTCHA code requested and allow the uninstall to complete
Restart your computer after the uninstall is complete.
 
 To install WSA
 

• Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode
• KEEP the computer online to install to make sure it works correctly
• Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
• Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode
• Let it finish it's install scan
• Reboot

In some cases, uninstall options for SecureAnywhere may be missing from the Control Panel or Start menu.  If you want to uninstall SecureAnywhere and are unable to do so because of these missing options, here are some steps you can try:

Option 1: Ensure correct display settings

1. Open Webroot SecureAnywhere.
2. Click Settings, then choose Basic Configuration.
3. Un-check the boxes next to Show Webroot in the Start Menu and Show Webroot in Add/Remove Programs.
4. Click Save All. After saving your settings, repeat steps 1 and 2, then re-check the boxes next to Show Webroot in the Start Menu and Show Webroot in Add/Remove Programs.  Then click Save All again.  
5. Once you have re-checked the correct options, try uninstalling Webroot from the Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs option, or from Start > All Programs > Webroot SecureAnywhere > Tools > Uninstall Webroot.

Option 2: If the method above does not work, you can run an uninstall command manually.  Choose the correct instructions for your operating system.
 For Windows XP:

1. Click Start, then click Run. The Run box opens.  
2. Type the following into the Run box, exactly as it appears below.  Note: This path is for the default location.  If you installed the program elsewhere, be sure to modify the path accordingly. "C:Program FilesWebrootWRSA.exe" –uninstall  
3. Click OK.  
4. When prompted to uninstall, click Yes.  

For Windows Vista and Windows 7 (32bit):

1. Open the Start menu by clicking the Start icon [img]http://sw.nohold.net/Webroot/Images/windows_7_start_button.png[/img].  
2. Type the following into the Start Search bar, exactly as it appears below.  Note: This path is for the default location. If you installed the program elsewhere, be sure to modify the path accordingly. "C:Program FilesWebrootWRSA.exe" –uninstall  
3. Press the Enter key on your keyboard.  
4. When prompted to uninstall, click Yes.

For Windows Vista and Windows 7 (64bit):

1. Open the Start menu by clicking the Start icon [img]http://sw.nohold.net/Webroot/Images/windows_7_start_button.png[/img].

1. Move your cursor to the bottom right of the screen to open the Charm Bar menu.  
2. Click Search, then type the following into the Start Search bar, exactly as it appears below. Note: This path is for the default location. If you installed the program elsewhere, be sure to modify the path accordingly. "C:Program FilesWebrootWRSA.exe" –uninstall  
3. Press the Enter key on your keyboard.  
4. When prompted to uninstall, click Yes.

If neither of the methods above is successful, please repeat the steps in Windows Safe Mode.  We recommend you print these instructions, then click here for information on starting your computer in Safe Mode.
 
If this does not helps:
 
Restart the computer into Safe Mode (Not "with networking", just regular Safe Mode).  It should NOT prompt you or trry to run int hat case. Then remove:
C:windowssystem32driverswrkrn.sys
C:windowssystem32wruser.dll
The entire C:ProgramDataWRData folder
The entire C:Program FilesWebroot folder
The C:Program Files (x86)Webroot folder if it exists
 
This will remove all the code, but not the registry entries.  You have the option to remove registry entries by hand, or to use a valid keycode (even a trial) to reinstall WRSA temporarily (takes a few seconds) and then uninstall it via normal methods thereafter, at which point it will clean up its stuff.

Sherry, I owe you an apploagy. Altough the webroot  icon disappeared after the restart, wound up going to the app area and there it was Webroot icon and when I clicked on it, Webroot came up , ready to scan. Hit scan and it started. ... hit cancel.
 
Now mode than ever, I want Webroot off, eliminated, deleted form my PC.

Welcome to the Community Forums.
 
You should not need to boot in Safe Mode to uninstall WSA...the use of the the Commandline or Run Dialog: "C:Program FilesWebrootWRSA.exe" –uninstall, as suggested by Petrovic should resolve your issue BUT you must make sure that you run the command in an elevated Command Prompt/Run as Administrator!   That is KEY.
 
If you do not know how then just type 'cms' into the search field of the Start Menu, and when you select the 'cmd' option (which should be the only one in the list) make sure that rather than just clicking on it you RIGHT CLICK instead and then select the 'Run as Administrator' option available from the context menu displayed.
 
This is often missed with the result that the command line option does not work.

Do you know how to get to one of these spots to Uninstall WSA? Copy and Paste in one of these windows to uninstall.

My apologies if my explanation was over elaborate...it was not meant to be.  All I was trying to do was to explain that to successfully run the command that Petrovic mentioned in his post one needs to run it with Windows Administrator rights.  You do not need to know what these are just how to do so...and that was the main descriptive information I provided.
 
If it will help I can provide step by step screen shots of that information...just let me know.

Up came Command Prompt  and  there was C:/ user/owner
I fought with this thing trying to discover what owner/user was and what it was asking for.
I understand there's some level of security and brought up Command Prompt a dozen times typing in password, name(s) of various degrees, email address. It wouldn't accept anything. ( assuming that's what it was asking for.)
 
Back in 1954, I was introduced into calculus in my freshmen year. Good thing my roommate took the subject in his last semester in high school. He helped me for about 5 - 6 weeks before I got a good hang on it. Actually, I got a higher grade at the end of the year than he did.  I started off in calculus with scrambled eggs for brains. That's the way I feel today with the way computers work.
Baldrick, big thanks fo your efforts to resolve this rediculus problem. Ther's way too many loose strings.
