I have just renewed my webroot online. How long will it take to be active. Still says expired.

Can I please ask how you updated your subscription? Was it through Webroot or Best Buy/Geek Squad, or other?
This makes a difference in how to resolve. Please let us know and we'll be happy to get this sorted out for you.:)

EDIT: Ooooops, apologies BD...our posts must have crossed...I did not see you had responded until after I had posted. :$
 
If your purchase, and so renewal, is from Best Buy/The Geek Squad then it can take 24 hours or so for the transfer of information to pass from them to Webroot's back office. If the purchase was other than Best Buy/The Geek Squad and so you are renewing via Webroot themselves it can take a couple of hours or so may be a little bit more for the process to complete.
 
Sometimes running a manual scan of your system, because it access the Webroot Cloud, can give the process a 'nudge' so if you fancy trying that then just click on the Scan my Computer but in the main app panel and see if that helps.

Edit: No worries ?, excellent additional info as usual. ;)
 
 
If you want you can give this a try as well. It has worked for some users (usually not Best Buy).
 
 
  • Open WSA
  • Click the Gear next to My Account
  • Re-enter your key code in the white box (The exact same key code you already have, possibly showing right next to the box)
  • Click Activate
  • Allow WSA to finish the requested scan
  • REBOOT the computer.

when I was checking my scan info, it said it was expired so I renewed it from that site

Thanks for clarifying. I would suggest that you give it until tomorrow so as to give the process of the transfer from The Geek Squad system to that of Webroot to run its course. If you have not seen a change by say this time tomorrow then post back and we may be able to get our most excellent Community Manager to investigate behind the scenes for you, so as to try to find out what is going on.
