Ca I stop this security when needed?

Yes, you can either go into the main app panel and from the various tabs you can switch off individual Shields, if you know the one that you want to temporarily dispense with...but WSA will warn you about it/them neing off...which annoys some people.
 
Or you can right click on the notification tray icon (Green Circle with 'W') and select the 'Shut down protection' option, then enter the CAPTCHA characters required, click OK and that should be WSA shutdown for you. A reboot will restart it so if you need the protection shutdown over a number of reboots then you will need to do the above post each reboot.
 
Having said all of that if you advise as to why you are looking to do this perhaps we can find another less radical way of allowing what you need to do without shutting down all protection.

Off course it can be stopped but like ? says give more "input" and we may come up with a better solution for you because once you stop it it's like taping your ATM card on the front window of your house and using a text marker to write your pin code above it...
