Hi,
I got a message from Windows 7 (fully updated) today saying my antivirus was off. Clicked to say, yes run Webroot, I trust the program. The window closed and I thought all was well. Nope.
A few hours later, I ran the System Analyzer and was surprised to see it report that the Antivirus was installed but not on. My WRSA showed green checkmarks everywhere. I was puzzled.
Checked system security status in the Control Panel and sure enough, it reported that Webroot claimed the antivirus was off. Again, clicked to turn it on, but it does not work.
I am stumped. I see no way to turn on the antivirus from within WRSA. Doing it in the Windows Control Panel is ineffective.
I appreciate your help!

- Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
- KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
- Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
- Uninstall WSA and Reboot
- Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings if asked to as you can set it up as you like once it's done
- Let it finish it's install scan
- Reboot once again

I can't uninstall WRSA.
I go to the Control Panel to uniinstall it. Enter the characters to prove I am not a robot. Almost instantly, I get a message from
Webroot asking why I uninstalled.
But, WRSA never disappears from my list of programs or desktop. I can still run it.
Now what?

Can you try this please! You may have to type it in the Run Box if copy and paste doesn't work!

- Click Start, then click Run. The Run box opens.
- Type the following into the Run box, exactly as it appears below. Note: This path is for the default location. If you installed the program elsewhere, be sure to modify the path accordingly. "C:Program FilesWebrootWRSA.exe" –uninstall
- Click OK.
- When prompted to uninstall, click Yes.

it it looked promising since I got the Windows message asking if I wanted to allow Webroot to make changes to my computer and then I got the spinning circle, suggesting something was happening. But, again, program was not uninstalled. Though whatever is happening triggers the Webroot uninstall survey.
Going to try a Safe Mode scan.

Safe Mode uninstall appeared to work, in that WRSA disappeared from the list of installed programs.
BUT, when I restatrted in Normal mode, WRSA was back and badly crippled. I could not turn on any of the shields.

Interestingly, while WRSA disappeared from the list of nstalled programs in Safe Mode, when I restarted in Normal mode, Windows asked me if I wanted to let Webroot make changes to my computer. While I thought Webroot was gone, I said yes. Windows loaded and WRSA was doing a scan in the background. So, without my reinstalling WRSA, it was on my PC.
Scan was clean.
The BIG news is the System Analyzer reported no problems and Windows security reported no problems!
