Why is it when I open the Webroot app, click on My Account and click on Access Web Console it wants me to create a new account. I already have an account and was expecting to see the login screen. But when I go to webroot.com I can get logged on. Does this difficult pathway have something to do with security?

This sounds strange to me because when I click on My Account and click on Access Web Console I get the this shown below: So I am not sure what you are seeing?

And then I get this window as shown below to log in.
?
If you are having issues then you can always Submit a Support Ticket and they can assist you free of charge with a Webroot subscription.

What I discovered is this: When I click on the Access Web Console button it gives me the screen to set up a new account. When that screen comes up, I click on the Home button and it then presents the login screen.
