Since I installed Webroot, Windows-L stops working intermittently.

I notice it frequently, that Windows-L quits working.  It's as if something is intercepting it.  The problem manifested immediately after installing Webroot.  If I hit Ctrl-Shift-Esc to bring up the task manager, that typically sorts it out.

Anyone else have this problem?  I've checked all the registry and group policy settings, and everything is correct.

Thanks!

Clint

Hi ClintVideo

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would you be able to elaborate a little as to what you mean by "Windows-L"?

Many thanks, Baldrick

I believe he would be refering to Windows-Live,  but which one. Windows live mail, essential, movie maker, etc?

Yup, I get the Windows Live bit...it was the 'which one' that I was after.

Perhaps he is referring to the Windows key + L, which locks the user???

Well, either way I am not seeing any issues with any of the aforementioned (nor have I ever come across any) so I would suggest, ?, that you try an uninstall/clean install of WSA as follows:

  • Make sure you have a copy of your Keycode
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and DO NOT import any settings if so offered; you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
and then check for the issue.

Let us know if that resolve the issue or if we need to look into another approach to help you resolve it.

Regards, Baldrick
