Well with the upcoming Football World Cup it was inevitable that some attack would happen from somewhere and with the recent release of "Sabu"  (pictured above leaving the Federal Court) it is not much of a surprise that the Anonymous group would flex its muscles.
 
"The hacker group Anonymous is preparing a cyber-attack on corporate sponsors of the World Cup in Brazil to protest the lavish spending on the soccer games in a country struggling to provide basic services, said a hacker with knowledge of the plan on Friday.

Earlier this week, Anonymous attacked the Brazil's Foreign Ministry computer networks and leaked dozens of confidential emails.

"We have already conducted late-night tests to see which of the sites are more vulnerable," said the hacker who operates under the alias of Che Commodore. "We have a plan of attack.""

Summary/ Starting this week, 32 national teams and thousands of football fans will descend on Brazil for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Right now the teams are fine-tuning their strategies in order to outwit their opponents - and so are the cybercriminals.

Cybercriminals are already using various attack techniques to exploit the World Cup theme, including fraudulent domains selling fake tickets, fake giveaways, and several phishing and malware campaigns. They are also using methods like credit card cloning and ATM scams to attack those attending the games in Brazil. These cyber attacks have only intensified as the tournament approaches and they all have the same end-goal: to steal your money.

Website Hacks Dropped During World Cup Final

Hackers apparently took time off to watch the Germany-Argentina title match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
 
Apparently, the only time bad-guy hackers take a breather from hammering away at websites is during the World Cup final match.
 
That's the takeaway from new data gathered by Imperva from its customers via its threat intelligence service.
 
It turns out that web attacks were heavier than normal during the quarterfinal and semifinal matches, but they were miniscule during the final, in which Germany beat Argentina in extra time.
 
Though he says he's no soccer fan, Barry Shteiman, director of security strategy for Imperva, immersed himself in the single-elimination playoff portion of the global soccer tournament in order to set the parameters for studying activity during the quarterfinal, semifinal, and final matches.
