Customers of LLoyd’s Banking Group should steer clear of the following phishing email, which plays on the “We noticed you’re logged in from different locations, and now you have to do something about it” trick to entice potential victims into logging in on a site they should avoid.

The email reads as follows:
You Have One New MessageYour account has been accessed in multiple locationsClick below to update your Lloyds Bank accountSign InClicking the link will take them to
mok-tr(dot)com/why/new/index(dot)html

How many times has this type of trick been going on? I always call my bank directly when I suspect a suspicious email to click on links.

Trouble is Antus you and I are not the real targets for the slime that perpetrate these scams. Unfortunately  there must be enough gullible folk out there who will comply with the hackers requests to make it worthwhile.

We live in very untrustworthy times!

The other problem is that some of the phishing e-mails are extremely good. I posted a test in the Community quite a while ago from a well know web site which gave a series of e-mails, some phishing and some not. I have to admit that I failed with a couple but it was hard so it is easy to understand how so people fall for them.

I have found it and it is worth trying it:
Phishing quiz: Can you spot a scam when you see one? Don't be so sure

Very interesting Jasper and a very good reminder that we should not feel smug about these scams just because we consider ourselves security savvy. I've just taken the quiz and also got 70%.

Here's a current link to the quiz.

Hi Jasper

Thanks for posting...but as a real Lloyds customer I would have spotted the fraud fairly quickly as it is not a very good fake in terms of the Lloyds-related logos & things.
