AV-Test: Seven Fitness Wristbands and the Apple Watch in a Security Check 2016

Wondered when someone would realise that this sort of device needs to be evaluated in this way...as do most if not all IoT-related devices.

A security audit evaluating many best-selling fitness trackers and wearable devices, including the Apple Watch, revealed that some manufacturers are continuing to make blatant security errors.
Conducted by AV-TEST, the new study found several security flaws in Android-powered fitness trackers.

After over a year of us reporting about these fitness trackers and their poor security it seems obvious that the companies seem to put security low down on their agenda.
Now if people would buy these trackers with security as one of the main draws to a particular make, it would make a difference eventually.

But it is not just fitness trackers...it is also just about anything that relates to the IoT...to some extent or another. :(

That is the main reason while don't go in for all the IoT stuff Baldrick. There is no need to be "connected" or have everything we own "connected". The way things are going it will not be many years before we ourselves become assimilated like the Borg.
