A fix is on the way for this little BSOD problem.

Mark Hachman  Aug 4, 2016 11:15 AM Users who have Avast’s antimalware solution on a PC with Intel microprocessors are reporting Blue Screens of Death (BSODs) when installing the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

Avast users report that when the AU process is kicked off, the PC will eventually crash with a “system thread exception not handled” error. The system then reverts to the previous version of Windows, forcing the user to re-download the update (if they hadn’t previously downloaded it to a USB stick) and begin the update process anew. I have a machine running Avast, and I had the same experience as others reported.

That makes me feel a bit better about some of the issues we've had with Windows 10 - I guess it could always be worse!

It is my suspicion that a lot of vendors will have been having hiccups along the way with W10.

Yeah it's been a bit of a bumpy ride. So far we've had the security center issue, and the wireless keyboard driver, but I guess we've had luck compared to some others!

Agreed, my friends, but on the whole the experience with Windows 10 has been good, and I shudder to think what it might have been like without all of that Insdier testing...I think that we owe them all a debt of gratitude. ;)

Agreed - our devs did a bang-up job of getting ready for Windows 10 in time. They had to put a lot of other stuff on the backburner to do so, though.

That is what I thought and now hopefully they will put their foot on the gas and start to get some of those great Feature Requests moving forward. Pretty please! ;)

Well priority #1 will always be efficacy, so some of it depends on how many new exploits the ransomware writers come up with that we have to counter. But yes, having Win 10 off our plates for now means more focus on new features 🙂

Efficiency & performance (after protection that is) is the right focus...but I just hope that nothing detracts from a little bit of feature development...;)
