Another day in a week of businesses being hacked. This time around, the hacking victim is Zendesk, a company which provides cloud-based help desk support for the three social network companies, among others. Here is what Zendesk CEO Mikkel Svane said in a statement:
"We've become aware that a hacker accessed out system this week," Svane said, without specifying the length of time that attackers had access to Zendesk's site. "As soon as we learned of the attack, we patched the vulnerability and closed the access that the hacker had. Our ongoing investigation indicates that the hacker had access to the support information that three of our customers store on our system," he said."
Twitter told customers via email that the breach didn't expose passwords, but that the attackers may have gotten access to contact information. Both Tumblr and Pinterest sent similar messages to their customers after learning about the breach. Click the aforementioned link for the full Informationweek story.
