One fear I have is that as time goes on, the ultimate sacrifice that all of our veterans gave will fade into obscurity. At that point all of humanity will be in greatdanger of a repeat of the 20th century or even worse, I just dread to think of that.
"A Veteran-whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve-is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to 'The United States of America', for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' This is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it."
Jasper_The_Rasper … tis for that reason I ask my child not to follow in my footsteps!
I now feel that we no longer volunteer for our country … we r just warm bodies to fill a spot the fat boys need to fill in for a live game; instead of using their plastic toys … and once we r home, just another number for the V A to keep experimenting on …. to never be heard again!
Our disabled r no longer seen for their minds … just the remnants of a soul begging to remain whole … accepted … valued!
I miss the honor and respect of the pride I/we once held above all … until our return discovered the truth of our worth from our country!
