I know my PC will be automatically updated on renewal, but will my IPad be auto updated also?

Yes, as you subscription is held centrally...in the Webroot Cloud, it will be applied centrally and all instances of the subscription, i.e., each device on which it is used will be updated...so to speak. ;)
