WEBROOT is touted as protecting against identity theft by Mrs. Kim Komando and my wife and I are wondering, does it protect as well or better than the LIFELOCK product? Any reliable studies done? Trying to make a purchasing decision.

Hi Sarge538

Welcome to the Community Forums.

I would say that there have not been any comparisions made between WSA and Lifelock as they are not like for like products. As far as I can tell the latter is a service whilst WSA is an app.  But I may be incorrect on that.

You may also want to do some research on the web as there seem to be a number of articles review and commenting on Lifelock, including this one that does not paint a great picture.

Personally, I am happy with WSA in that role especially when one considers the contents of this previous thread...again, wortha read as part of your deliberations.

Hi Sarge538

I understand what you are saying.  But to be honest as far as I am concerned it is a no brainer from my perspective...I am basing my view on (i) the reputation of the solution provider, (ii) their time in the business, and (iii) the fact that I trust in solutions that I can 'touch' or configure myself as opposed to those where iot is apparently all done for you...which leads me to conclude that WSA suits my needs/requirements.

But the only way to come to the right conclusion for you is for you to do the research...and if you Google 'Lifelock', 'Lifelock review', etc. I am sure that you will find plenty of material on which to make an informed decision.

All I can say further is asking the question here is likely to ellicit a biased answer...for obvious reasons...but then again, we here use WSA because we believ in the fact that it protects us very well.

But please do not let that put you off coming back and asking further, more dpecific questions if, as and when you have them.

Regards, Baldrick
