Every time I reboot my computer Webroot opens a window saying "Browser Web Security Extension Not Installed.  Click Install to install this extension in all supported browsers or click disable to disable the Web Threat Shield and this prompt."  I am thinking that having to re-install a browser extension each time I reboot is not a security threat but it is a highly annoying pain in the ass.  Any quick and easy fix for this problem?
Hello danappofc,

Can you please do a clean install of SecureAnywhere, which hopefully will eradicate the problem.

  • Make sure you have a copy of your Keycode
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
Please let us know if that resolves your issue?

And if all fails, then please contact Support:  Submit a Support Ticket

p.s.I see you asked the same a week ago, did you try a reinstall, or is there any other info you can add, thanks? https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Antivirus/Every-time-I-reboot-Webroot-says-that-the-browser-web-security/m-p/161785
These links don't work on a Mac.  Also, I installied the program from an installation CD that I received when purchasing the computer from Best Buy.
Ok then you can reinstall from the CD, or use this link for the installer: SecureAnywhere Best Buy Mac Installer

To uninstall:

1.   Shut down SecureAnywhere by clicking the Webroot icon (green W) in the menu bar and selecting Shut Down SecureAnywhere.

2.   If prompted, confirm that you want to shut down SecureAnywhere.

3.   Open the Finder by clicking the Finder icon in the dock.

4.   Open the Applications directory.

5.   Click and drag the Webroot SecureAnywhere program icon into the Trash in the dock.

6.   A confirming window appears.  Click Uninstall.

7.   Webroot SecureAnywhere is now uninstalled.  There is no need to restart your computer.

Let us know if you need any other info.

Added: Installing using the Installer:

  1.  Double-click wsamacbbs2.dmg to open the installer.

.2. Drag the Webroot SecureAnywhere icon into the Applications folder.

. 3.Open the Applications folder by double-clicking the folder icon.

.4.In the Applications folder, double-click the Webroot SecureAnywhere icon to begin activation.

..5.In the first activation window, enter your keycode and click Activate.

Webroot won't uninstall.  Shut down program and drug icon from Applications to trash can three times but program remains.
Perhaps @ or @ or @  may have an idea to try, but it may be best to contact support: https://www.webrootanywhere.com/servicewelcome.asp

Hello there :)

To be quite honest, I have been looking over this thread the last few minutes, and I am not sure.  I am NOT a Mac user.  There are a few options though.

First of all, I have also 'pinged' our in house Mac user Sherry.  I believe she will be around shortly to take a look on the problem if it refusing to un-install.

Going through Support as Dermot also mentioned can also be done :)

I would really like to know, when this is over, just what was needed to uninstall from the Mac when it is being stubborn in doing so.  It would really help be out to be of more help to our Mac users!

Hello danappofc,

Welcome to the Community!

Thanks Dermot7 can I interject here!

My advice is to go into safe mode if you are confident. I'ts really simple. Here are the steps.

1.Shut down your Mac and wait 10 seconds.

2. Press power button.

3.Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold down the Shift key.

You should press the Shift key as soon as possible after you hear the startup tone, but not before.

To leave safe mode, restart Mac normally holding down any keys during startu[!

I've done this porcedure the other day when I couldn't uninstall Webroot.

You can also issue a Support Ticket if you aren't confident.

Please let us know how you are doing because this will help others.

Thanks,
