Is there a way to get Webroot Secure Anywhere to send an email or do something besides just adding an exclamation point to it's taskbar icon when there is a threat?

I get a call and go to my aged mother's house to fix her Adobe Reader because she couldn't open an older archived pdf statement on Chase Bank's website. Adobe Reader had somehow been uninstalled on her computer and the download would not install because it didn't have persmission or some such thing to write to a folder. In the process of messing around I clicked on the systray/taskbar arrow that hides apps and there was the webroot icon with an exclamation point. Upon investigating I learned that her computer was infected with xzhian (c:usersownerappdatalocal emplowxzhian.exe) and Webroot listed the type as a trojan. Webroot quarantined it, I managed to get Adobe reader installed,  and I set the Webroot icon on the systray from notifications to show icon and notifications.

I used a couple of those URL checker sites to investigate some of the websites in her browser's history; the sites I checked did not turn up as threats. I can't find any info on xhian but some sites malware lists had a "xian". I don't know if my mother had a legitmate threat but she never would have known had I not seen the icon. SecureAnywhere is pretty non-invasive and takes care of itself which is nice for people who are technology challenged but it needs to do something more attention catching when it encounters a problem. 😞
Hello Indysanna,

Welcome to the Community Forum,

Sorry to hear about your Mother's computer.

My suggestion would be to put your idea in the Feature Request and we can see where it goes from there. This does sound like a good idea though for those who aren't technically inclined. Nice to know that you were able to help sort this out for your Mother.
