Can anyone explain what this is and what it does? Starting yesterday, it started popping up on my laptop. I use Google Chrome, and a Windows 8 laptop. There aren't any additional ad-ons on Chrome as far as I've seen, but my concern is that this malware keeps popping up. Is it harmful? What is it/what does it do? Is there any way to get rid of it?

Hello and Welcome to the Community, @
PassShow it’s technically not a virus, but it does exhibit plenty of malicious traits, such as rootkit capabilities to hook deep into the operating system, browser hijacking, and in general just interfering with the user experience. The industry generally refers to it as a “PUP,” or potentially unwanted program. Look here at the PUA KB.
Webroot is telling you it's a threat and that you should remove this. This sounds like a bad one and you can try to remove this but if Webroot is showing this PUA malware, you need to let WR quarantine this. Webroot will then rescan to see if the threat is removed.
Go here to the User Guide for more information and it's good to look here.
If you are still having problems with these popups in Chrome. Then I'd sincerely advise a Support Ticket

Hi Guys....
None of my business, but I inadvertantly (don't ask how I did that) installed Chrome a few months back. It completely messed up my my password protection and I couldn't get rid of it fast enough after trying to get it to work without success. I'm not saying this is the cause or issue with the virus or malware noted, and I'm sure others have had no problems with Chrome, but just saying, my iMac went back to working properly once I uninstalled it. Could be just me and my computer, but Chrome gave me nothing but a headache.
