windows 10 tells me that both defender and webroot are turned off, but webroot is turned on---i have had windows 10 for a few months now, and it just started telling me that a few days ago----i do not understand that

Welcome to the Webroot Community,

 

This is a known issue and should be fixed with the latest Webroot release. Can you hoover over Webroot in the taskbar and see what version of Webroot that you are running? You should be running Version 9.0.8.80.

 

Please let us know if you are not running this Webroot version and we can have you run the Webroot installer or reinstall Webroot.

 
ok thanks---i have not seen that message today from windows----my version now shows 9.0.8.80----i think it's ok now----------so that's good
