Hi MadelineB

I believe that you are correct to treat this with suspicion. I presume that you are getting this indication whilst browsing and having clicked on a link?

Whilst this may be true, i.e., that you Flash Player is out of date, you should only update from the proper Adobe site which is as follows: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

Just to make sure check that you version of Flash Player is up to date by going to this site: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
but do remember that this will not work if you are using Chrome as your browser as it already includes the Flash Player built-in, & Chrome will automatically update when new versions of Flash Player are available.

Hey there Madeline.

If your flashplayer is out of date and you are concerned about the authenticity of a popup link, the best thing to do would be to go to the actual website for flash and download the up to date plugin from there.

 Here is the link: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

I hope this helps
Brad

Thank you.  I followed the link that you and Bradforth provided and downloaded the flash player.

Hi MadelineB

No worries...just install and continue browsing and then if yo get a further warning then you can be sure that the site either has no idea as to what it is reporting or it is indeed a malcious attempt (especially if the site itself provides a link for a supposed Flash Player update).

The moral here is ALWAYS download from the author's or the author's accredited website(s).
