RE: Webroot article entitled, "8 Tips To Stay Safe Online", tip #4- [sic] Change your password(s) on a regular basis, especially the "simple" ones. So, how do I do this on Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete? You are advising me to regularly change or upgrade my passwords and yet, I can find no setting that allows me to change my Webroot master password. Why not? After all, Webroot is a "safe online" tool. Please respond.

Hello there!
Changing your password is actually pretty easy. Remember that WSA Complete is not just a 5 device license, it is also a 5 user profile license: you can also have 5 different User Profiles that will each have their own Password Manager. A Password Manager login works not on only a single device, but any device that has the Password Manager installed. For this reason, the change password is located within the Account Console
Log into the Console wih the User Profile that you wish to change the 'master password' for
Click the email address at the upper right corner
Select Account Settings on the dropdown.
Locate Password on the settings list and click the Change link
That's it :)
I hope this helps!

Thank you for your kind reply to my question. I sincerly appreciate it however, the procedure you've sent me does not apply to what I'm trying to acheive. The (your) procedure allows the user to change the password required to access the "Console" and then change that password. The password that I'm trying to change/update is the one that is required to access stored User ID and Password login information within the pull down menu that is present when the WebRoot icon in the WebRoot toolbar is clicked. I refer to this as the "Master Password" because that is what the WebRoot tech I spoke with called it. This nomenclature has been a source of contention for me ever since I started to attempt to change this password as WSA has more than one password and each one is not identified by a unique label. To be clear in defining which password I'm referring to, I'll provide an application example-
open Inernet Explorer
Go to a website whose login infomation has been saved by WSA
Click "Login"
Click WSA icon saved in the WebRoot toolbar located below IE options and settings
Enter email address and (Master) password info into WSA pull down menu
(This opens the saved website login info or automatically logins the user in, depending upon WSA settings.)
This then, is the password that I'm trying to change/update. Once again, thank you very much for your reply but in this case I am still unable to acheive my goal.
Best regards,

I am sorry, but I know exactly what you are talking about. My procedure is quite correct, and I just changed my own password to double check. It worked perfectly.
That Account Settings password change does change the password for the ENTIRE User Profile, from logging into the Console, to logging into Backup&Sync, to the Password Manager.
If it did not work for you, please try again and make sure that you follow the suggestions very carfully as to how many letters, numbers, and total characters must be used.
I DID have some trouble with the Chrome browser and my new Master Password. The Password Manger did not accept the new password until I had shut down the browser and re-opened it. The next time you change the password, you might try logging in with a DIFFERENT browser to verify that the new password works, and then remember to close all browsers and reopen them to refresh the settings. It might also help to clear browser cache as well.
Sometimes changes in the Console can take 15 to 20 minute to take effect, this could also be the source of your problems in trying to see the change of password work on the login.
If this still fails, then your account may have been affected by a known issue regarding data sync between the Console and the Password Manager database. This can be fixed by submitting a Trouble Ticket. and having Webroot Support take a look at it for you.
I hope your next try works! :)

Thank you for your prompt reply. It worked! I didn't know that when I changed the password in the console settings, it also changed the login password on the WSA pull down menu. Thanks again! I learned something new today.

wschools, I learn something new every day here 🙂 That is why I enjoy it.
I am glad that we hopefully have it up and going! I ended up having quite a problem with Chrome after my own password change. IE and Firefox picked it up right away but for some reason Chrome took around 30 minutes as did my backup&Sync.
