How do I change my security settings to allow me to download email attachments?

May I first ask as to who you receive emails and attachments? Do you use a client, i.e., Windows Mail, Thunderbird, Outlook, etc., or do you use web mail, accessed via a browser, i.e., Yahoo, Virginmedia, etc.
That should help us narrow down the area to concentrate on to help you.
