Hello jessie0f63,

Welcome to the Community!

You have an option to contact Best Buy here and they can help you with your subscription which should be free support i believe. And you can call them here at this number 1-800-433-5778. Be sure to mention your subscription software through Best Buy.

Let us know if you can't get any help and we can help you resolve this problem.

Best Regards,

"If you purchase a new key code from Webroot, you will have to uninstall the Geek Squad version and reinstall using the standard Webroot download.  Note that my signature has both downloads listed.  While the software may be the same, the key codes are NOT interchangeable."

OK OK.. I will give an answer here LOL!  Give me a few minutes...it will not be entirely short.  I will edit this post with the information shortly.

OK.  First of all, even though you have a CD, Webroot software (Any Webroot software) MUST be connected to the internet in order to activate.

I see your previous subscription was through Geek Squad.  Your NEW copy... did you purchase a new box or did you renew the existing Geek Squad subscription?  If you simply renewed through Geek Squad, and did not purchase a new box, no new key code is required.  You DO have to connect to the internet to allow the Webroot Software to recieve the update of the subscription information.

If you purchased a NEW GEEK SQUAD copy, first you must connect to the internet to activate the new key code.  Locate your new key code, and then open the WSA software on your computer.  Click the "gear symbol" next to My Account,.  In the right side of the software will be a white box.  Enter the new Geek Squad key code there, and then click the Activate button.,

If you purchased a new copy that is NOT a Best Buy Subscription Software copy, you must uninstall the Best Buy version.  Click Start, All Programs, Webroot, Tools, Uninstall.

Then, connect to the internet.  Place your new CD into the drive and follow all installation steps WHILE connected to the internet.

Please note that while Webroot software provides superior protection online or offline, it IS Cloud based, and so will only give you the maximun protection possible while the computer is online.
