I am receiving a message that reads HPSF.exe has stopped working. It goes on to say it is a serious problem and must close. It also gives an option to automatically restart. I scanned mt computer but the scan says that no malware found.

Thanks Sherry for the link. Unfortunately the problem remains. I re-tryed it again but still no sucess. I looked up the error on Google and got sent to some outfit called iYogi that said my computer is infected and that they could repair it for a one time fee of $199.00.

Do not let them fix your computer for 199.00. Does Webroot say you have an infection? You cannot trust these online sites, Do not give them any information.
You may also contact our Support Team free of charge by Submitting a Support Ticket .
I'm not sure why you are getting this error of HPSF. But if you want to do a clean reinstall of WSAC to eliminate if the problem is Webroot we can also try that. Let me know and I can give you instructions and a link to do that!
Regards,
I would definitively open the Support Ticket and get the Support Team to check this out as it is possible for rogue versions of this .exe to get onto people's systems.
The other thing to do to check is to locate the instance of HPSF.exe, then right click on it and select 'Scan with Webroot' from the conext menu displayed, and then look to see what result comes back...this should tell you if you have an immediate malware issue or more likely a genuine issue with the .exe not working.

So...after live chat with two differrent techs at HP, they uninstalled and re-installed HP Support Assistant and then I lost connection with the first tech. So I tried again and we went through basically everything the first tech did, but followed up with a system re-store. Two hours later, everything seems to be operating fine. Thanks for the help.
