I just installed Webroot.  Before I was using Avast and Windows Defender.  Should I uninstall those?  Will they interfere?  Are they unnecessary now?

Thanks.
Hi wombatsanonymous

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Whilst WSA will play well with both of these security apps (it has been designed to do so from the outset) IMHO opinion you have no need to run them as well as WSA, which offers top notch protection on its own.

Please see below for a diagramatic explanation as to how WSA protects you:

And you may also find this KB Article of interest, and there is further useful information here about how well protected you are by WSA.

However, the other thing that you could do is to keep Avast, disable the real time protection (not that you need to but why burden your system with it and that of WSA) and keep it installed as a second opinion scanner for a while?  I am certain that in the fullness of time you will end up doing what I did with KIS...uninstalling it and relying on WSA only.

Please feel free to ask further questions if you feel the need.

That's all the explanation I need. One of the biggest reasons I was interested in Webroot was because it is so "small". Looking forward to ditching the others.

Thanks!
