When I try to visit www.classmates.com a pop-up claims I need to download Flashplayer Pro and the url indicates simpleupdater.com.

What's this about?  Isn't a sort of "flashplayer" already working within Chrome?  I only use Chrome on the internet - never I.E.  Never feel safe using I.E. anymore, even if I am running 2 anti-virus programs (Webroot and McAfee.)

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Hello verbalAdvntg, welcome to the Webroot Community!

That should NOT be needed, and I would regard it as likely unsafe.

Chrome contains Flashplayer, if I recall, without the need to download it separately.  Chrome also automatically updates itself, unless you have changed the default settings.

To check to see if you have the current version of chrome, click the tool menu at the upper right and select About Google Chrome.  It may take a few minutes to check for updates.

If Chrome is up to date, there are a couple of things you can try.

The first is to re-install Chrome.  Make sure to save your bookmarks (If you are signed into the browser they are probably aleady backed up by Google), uninstall Chrome.  Reboot the computer and re-install Chrome directly from google.com.  Restore your bookmarks or sign in.

It is hard to say, but I think that there might be some non malare yet undesireable software on your computer causing the issue.  You can submit a Trouble Ticket to have Webroot Support take a look to see if there is anything undesireable on the computer.

Let me know if any of this helps!
