Why must I use Microsoft Firewall?
Page 1 / 1
Hello there, welcome to the Community!
You do not HAVE to use it, but it is very strongly reccomended. Please see this KB Article for more information.
Very basically, the Windows Firewall only watches inbound connections. Under Windows 7 and 8, it is very robust on it's own and quite sufficient. What it DOESN"T do is watch outbound traffic. That is where the WSA Firewall comes in. It is designed to work along with Windows Firewall to cover both inbound and outbound connections in the most efficient manner possible.
