"Microsoft" virus pop-up message
Periodically when I am on the internet a message pops up noting a file is missing on my computer due to a virus and I need to contact Microsoft at 1-866-372-4387 to have someone fix it. Sometimes the message is in spoken and written form. The only way I can get rid of the message is to shut down my computer. When I shut down my computer the message goes away. Webroot and Windows Firewall scans note there are no viruses detected on my computer. I am certain something is wrong. Has anyone else experienced the same? If so, what can I or should I do?

Yes this does happen quite often that we hear about this on the Forum.
THIS IS A SCAM!! Neither Microsoft nor any other company sends emails, pop ups, or phone calls of any kind advising that you may have a problem.
If you clicked anything links, allowed them to remote into your computer, or went to any web sites please submit a Trouble Ticket ASAP. (Now would be a good idea....) This is a free service with an active Webroot license subscription.
