Hi, folks,
I've been using the password manager on my laptop since April. I started with it just in Chrome, and I just adopted it in IE and Firefox. That was so simple, I want to take the next step, and try it on my Android phone.
I use the browser on my phone very little, because for all my web accounts, the providers developed apps to serve their mobile audience, not responsive websites. Can apps on my droid access my site vault? Or does password management only work through a web browser?
I could really use a high-level description of how the password manager works to better understand how to use it on multiple devices. Does anyone know of such a thing. A video would be nice. I've only seen videos on how to use it.
Also, if you're experienced using the PM on multiple devices and can warn about potential pitfalls, I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks in advance,
Laura

Hi Laura
Please tale a look at this Knowledge Base article produced by Sherry, if you have not seenit already, that may well provide you with the information you are looking for. If not then perhaps@ our resident expert in the domain could provide more specific guidance?
As to major pitfalls to using the PM on multiple devices...I have come across none myself.
Hope that helps?
Regards, Baldrick

Please follow the information to install WSAC to your Android device.
I've been using Password Manager without any problems.
I use SecureWeb for my Android device and when you open WSB you will click menu in right hand corner and you will see Vault and there you can sign into your SecureWeb,
Vault in right hand upper corner.
As Balidrick has lead you to that KB ,you can follow instructions there as well.
I do use Dual Authenticator downloaded from the PlayStore (Android) for added security! This is only for Advanced users as it states in the KB.
Dual Authorization For Password Manager (Suggested for Advanced Users Only at this time)
Log into your Console
Click on Passwords
On the right hand side, under MyIdentity Actions:
Click View Settings
Enter your Password
Google Authenticator multifactor authentication settings will now be displayed.
There is a Mobile Help Topics Here and Here
Hope this helps!
Please let us know if you need more quidance or have anymore questions.
Thanks
Thanks, folks, but I'd already searched and found the KB articles for password manager on mobile before I wrote. I'm not looking for how-to info (how to install, how to add sites, etc.). I need a high-level description of how password manager works under the hood, so I can understand how to correctly use it on my mobile and my laptop simultaneously. Is that common knowledge here?
Hi Laura
Not really sure what you me by a high level explanation of what is under the hood...and not sure why you would be using two devices simultaneously...unless you are type on each with a separate hand?
I just use the Manager normally via 3 devices and because i canot use two devices simultaneously I never get a conflict...if I change something in terms of credentials in the Manager then it is instantly available for use via the other devices...it is as simple as that as far as I can see.
If you have a more complex scenario then please let us have it so that we can assess it and then respond.

Let me try to get at the information another way.
1) Once I've done an install on my mobile, how does my site and passwords data get transferred securelyfrom my laptop to my mobile?
2) I have apps on my mobile for a lot of sites I visit through the web on my laptop. Do the apps on my mobile have access to the site and password data in the Password Manager, or am I out of luck?
Thanks.

Hello LauraB, welcome back!
I think I can answer your questions.
I think I can answer your questions.
- Your password data is actually stored, securely and encrypted, in the Cloud, so it is accessible from any device you use to log into the Password Manager.
- What you are looking for probably will not work at this time. Think of how Password Manager works in Windows: it is an extension/add-on to your browser. It only 'communicates' with your browser and the webpages that you use. The same is essentially true of the Mobile version, except that the Mobile version browsers do not use extensions like Windows does. SO... the Password Manager is built into the Secure Web Browser. You will need to simply download the Secure Web Browser from your App store. You will log into the Password Manger within the Secure Web Browser to have access to the passwords on web sites just as you have access to passwords on web sites within Windows or iOS. It does not, however, communicate with other apps.
